Pennington County Democrats and Grassroots Progressives:
HB 1069, the measure to repeal IM 22, passed the House of Representatives on a straight, party line vote. All the Democrats opposed repealing the will of the voters. The bill now moves to the Senate State Affairs Committee at 10am on Wednesday.
Below is the contact information for the Senate State Affairs Committee. Please call or email to tell them you do not support this legislative power grab, and spread the word to your friends and contacts.
Whether you supported IM 22 or not in November, the extraordinary way the Republican legislature is going about repealing IM 22 shows a complete lack of respect for the Initiate Measure process and the will of the voters. We ARE concerned about corruption; we ARE concerned about ethics; we ARE concerned about campaign finance. Our representatives should, in fact, REPRESENT US!
Note: If you are a constituent, of one of these legislators, be sure to include it in the subject line, for example “Vote no on HB 1069 – from a District X constituent.” To find out who your legislators are, click here.
Remember, in your correspondence or calls, it’s fine to passionate, but also be polite and respectful. Thanks for your hard work!
